Industry-leading manufacturer of paints and performance coatings, Dulux Trade, is celebrating a successful Ecobuild. The experts from Dulux Trade were on hand throughout the exhibition to offer advice to visitors on the company's expanding portfolio of leading sustainable solutions. A 'live case study' from City of York Council also helped drive a high number of visitors to its stand.
Some of the products highlighted on stand included the organisation's most sustainable range of paint - Dulux Trade Ecosure, as well as Dulux Trade Light & Space, and the Paint Solidifier - a revolutionary solution for the safe and responsible disposal of waste paint.
Andy Wilcock, Projects and Tenant Choice Manager at City of York Council, was also present on the ICI Paints AkzoNobel stand to demonstrate sustainable best practice when refurbishing the UK's housing stock. Andy and his team have made major steps to ensure their approach to property improvement is environmentally sound and complements the Council's overall sustainability strategy. These steps include the use of a number of products from the Dulux Trade Weathershield range of paints.
Andy explained to visitors how City of York Council came to be one of the first local authorities in the UK to reduce its average unit cost by almost 50 per cent, while raising the standard of tenant homes, through the trial and implementation of Dulux Trade Weathershield. Working for this pioneering local authority, Andy was perfectly placed to advise specifiers at Ecobuild on conducting their own exterior coatings water based paint trials and developing an effective cyclical maintenance programme as a result.
Ecobuild was a great opportunity for us to demonstrate the range of sustainable solutions we now offer, and to talk to people within the industry about the steps we are taking to become a greener company.
In addition, to have secured someone as proactive and knowledgeable as Andy to speak at our stand was a real coup and is testament to the quality of our products, as well as the strength of relationships we build with our customers. We have worked in partnership with the City of York council for over 18 years to help it develop a more financially and environmentally sustainable maintenance programme, which not only benefits the council, but its residents too, by contributing to improving their standard of living. We were proud to be in a position to share these learnings at Ecobuild.
