Dulux Select Decorators have put the final touches to makeovers at community projects up and down the country as part of the Dulux 'Paint for Change' project. Run in conjunction with The Sun, the 'Paint for Change' initiative was designed to inspire the nation to pick up a paintbrush. A number of Dulux Select Decorators were involved in the scheme which saw eleven deserving community schemes across the UK rejuvenated free of charge.
The industry-leading paint manufacturer is in the running for the Green Business Awards' Green Product accolade, and for the coveted Sustainable Manufacturer award at the UK Green Building Council's (UK GBC) Making Sustainable Development Happen Awards.
Dulux Select Decorators Robin Allardyce, Roy Basten and James Balbi, together with an army of volunteers, decorated the worn wood-cladded exterior of the Shoosmith Centre in Andover - just one of the schemes to benefit from the 'Paint for Change' initiative.
Project Manager for the Shoosmith Centre makeover, Robin Allardyce, said: "I was delighted to get involved as project manager with the Paint For Change Campaign. It was good to see the volunteers and Select Decorators working so well together. All in all it was both a privilege and a rewarding experience."
Small changes can have a significant impact on our surroundings and this initiative was all about inspiring people to get involved and show them that simple changes really can make a big difference. It was great to see so many of the Dulux Select Decorators offering up their free time and expertise to be involved in such a worthy project.
Paint for Change was a huge success and a real credit to the meticulous organisational skills and project management of the Dulux Select Decorators. The effort, skill and professionalism that they put into both the preparation and the makeover days was tremendous and a credit to the individual decorators' businesses and the Dulux Select Decorators scheme.
We called upon the professional services of some of the decorators at very short notice and they were more than accommodating to our needs. James Vaughan was one of these decorators and he did a fantastic job in the preplanning and overall project management of the Featherstone Lions ARLFC project.
